The Commuter Sling XL 2.0 is one of the few bags on the market that fits a 12.5″ rifle folded.

The Commuter Sling XL 2.0 is in a class of its own. Most other bags are focused heavily on carrying gear and smaller rifles. The commuter XL allows users to carry up to a 12.5″ ASSEMBLED rifle with a folding stock adapter. This bag also features a TON of MOLLE and loop throughout the front flap and inside the bag. This means that users can easily pack and customize their load out depending on their personal needs.

A few notable features of the Commuter Sling XL 2.0:
  • The Commuter Sling XL is the larges sling bag we currently carry.
  • Main compartment is very large and will fit up to 12.5″ folded rifles.
  • The large nature of the main compartment can pack clothing, a laptop, office gear or camping tools.

The Commuter Sling XL 2.0 is built to carry it all. For folks needing more storage than what most micro sling bags offer, the XL sling shines through. The Commuter Sling XL is capable of fitting a folded rifle with a barrel length up to 12.5″. 12.5″ rifles are potent and extremely capable. Few bags are able function like this sling bag. Other uses for this bag could include carrying extra clothes, work/office equipment, and a large amount of medical gear daily.

For situations demanding a larger rifle or more gear, this XL sling is perfect.

This sling bag is purpose driven to deliver for customers needing more gear. Not everyone needs a bag like this, but for those that do, this bag will deliver. This bag is perfect to keep in any vehicle in case of emergency. This is especially true for people carrying larger rifles daily. This bag can also fit other various barrel lengths if the rifle is broken down.

What we love most about this sling is the fact that it can carry a 12.5″ rifle folded. We often roll around with medium length rifles and having a way to transport them is important. We acknowledge that this is not the most inconspicuous bag available. But when you need to transport a larger rifle, or more gear, this bag delivers. The front most compartment has a massive amount of Loop and MOLLE. This is where we often put medical gear. The interior/main compartment is extremely spacious. It features loop, a large zipper pocket, and various organization sleeves. The CCW compartment features a ton of Loop and is perfect for a pistol or spare magazines.

We believe that citizens should carry tools to become formidable. Become an asset to your community by training and equipping yourself with lifesaving tools.

1.) Are Vertx Bags really that great? 

There are plenty of quality bags on the market. There are also many…not so great options. We bought our first Vertx bags back around 2015/2016. We have been a customer of Vertx for years and we have used nearly all of their backpacks, slings, and packs in our personal lives. Our team quite literally carries Vertx bags on us every single day. There is a reason: They are extremely well built, they are laid out well, they can take immense abuse, and the don’t look tactical. The last thing we want is to have bags that look tactical or are laid out poorly. The Vertx bags in general are well built, well thought out packs.

2.) Are these bags drop shipped? 

No. We stock these physically in our warehouse and we only stock models that we have had the opportunity to get our hands on and use. We stock these bags so we can be sure to service you the way we know you want to be treated: Faster shipping, better service.

3.) Are Vertx bags made in the USA?  

No. Vertx bags are manufactured in Vietnam.

4.) Who should consider the Commuter Sling XL 2.0?  

The Commuter Sling XL is a very large sling bag. The obvious advantage of this bag is the fact that it easily and comfortably fits a 12.5″ Folded AR15. Not many bags will fit an assembled 12.5″ Rifle folded. The tradeoff of this bag is it is not very discreet due simply to its size. With that being said, if you transport an 11.5″ or 12.5″ rifle in your vehicle, having a way to carry it is important. You never know when your vehicle might leave you sit. You also never know when you might need to ditch your vehicle. For that reason, always having a capable bag is a must.

5.) What size rifle will fit into the Commuter Sling XL 2.0?

In our current climate, we see more and more intentional division. Mass shootings and attacks, while rare, often happen with shooters armed with rifles and armor. For this reason, we believe we should be prepared for righteous violence at a moment’s notice. Having a 12.5″ rifle on tap is not a bad call. The Commuter Sling XL 2.0 fits up to a 12.5″ folded AR15 or AK variant.

6.) What is the best way to carry spare magazines? 

We offer several variations of our mag shingles. We have a triple rifle version, a 2 Rifle 1 Pistol, and a Quad Pistol shingle for discreet bag carry. For this particular bag the shingles/spare bags work best in the concealed carry compartment (closest compartment toward users back).

7.) Who should steer clear of the Commuter sling 2.0?

The one “downside” of the Commuter Sling XL is the sheer size. It will be noticed in public. For this reason, it is not our go to for daily public carrying of concealed rifles. We want to blend in, be inconspicuous and not raise any concerns. If you are on the hunt for a more discreet option, we would recommend the Commuter Sling or Transit Sling. If all you have is a 12.5″ rifle or pistol with a folding adapter, this will be your bag. Just know that it is not the most discreet compared to smaller options.
