Cadex Defence Dovetail NV Mount

The Cadex Defence Dovetail NV Mount is an alternative solution that we are offering to our customers. This mount is of the same quality as a G24 mount, offers VERY elegant adjustments, and is packed with unique features. It has become one of our favorite mounting solutions, hence why we added it to our lineup.

Specifications of this Mount:
  • Ergonomic “one touch” height adjustment allows the operator to adjust the height with one hand.
  • Low profile design follows helmet contour
    when folded.
  • Six positions adjustable mounting plate fits numerous facial profiles and helmet mounting systems.
  • Locked in a stowed position.
  • Force overcome in down/deployed position.
  • If the NVG is bumped or impacted, the low-profile flip-up mount will fold and lock in an upright position protecting the NVG and operator.

Cadex Defence Dovetail NV Mount

The Cadex Defence Dovetail NV Mount is an alternative solution that we are offering to our customers. Often the Wilcox G24 mount is very difficult to get, which can leave our customers without a fast solution. Through research and conversations in the industry, we stumbled upon Cadex. Cadex is a manufacturer in Canada making elegant, high quality products which include this dovetail NV mount. If you are on the hunt for a quality, high-performance mounting solution, we highly recommend you consider this mount.

Fully Adjustable on the Fly

The Cadex Dovetail mount is offered in several configurations and colors. All configurations are fully adjustable on the fly. One unique feature of this mount is the push button activation; To deploy your night vision, you press a button on the left side of the mount. When you want to stow your unit, this button becomes “force overcome”. This simply means that you ONLY need to depress the button when deploying your unit. Friction is what keeps the unit down, and a swift rotation upward stows the unit and locks it upright. No more fumbling for buttons when it is time to stow your gear. Vertical, horizontal, and tilt adjustments are very slick as well. If you have used a G24 mount, you will be very familiar with the layout of this option.

Breakaway and Non-Breakaway options available

You can select from either a breakaway or non-breakaway option on this product page. A Breakaway feature simply means that the mount itself can fall off the helmet if impacted by a reasonably force. The idea behind this design is to save your neck in the event you fall or your unit gets snug on something. Even if you purchase the breakaway variant, you have the option to quickly on the fly disable that feature. One quick rotation of the mount release sets it into either mode.

The finish of the aluminum components is second to none. The Lightweight, durable design ensures reliability and ease of use in the darkness. This mount is absolutely on par with a G24 and it should NOT be seen as an inferior or sub-par option. In fact, this mount has become a “go to” for several of our team members. Milspec Dovetail Receiver: Compatible with standard units

If your J-Arm or Bridge features a mil spec dovetail, it will interface properly with this mount. Lockup is tight and consistent, ensuring your unit stays in place while in use. All adjustments are very solid.  If you are looking for a quality alternative to the G24, look to this mount.

Frequently Asked Questions:
1.) Is this mount as high quality as the G24?

Answer: Absolutely. This is NOT a sub-par alternative. It has many features the G24 does not have, and some of our team prefers this mount over the G24. While the G24 has been seen as king for a long time, this mount will go head to head with it.

2.) Which should I choose: The G24 or The Cadex Dovetail Mount?

Either mount will get night vision onto your helmet. So no worries there. If you are dead set on a G24 and can handle the lead times we sometimes face, go that direction. If you are looking for a faster turnaround mount that is just as strong, has arguably better adjustments than the G24, and is equal quality: Go for the Cadex Mount. They both achieve the same end goal.

3.) Is the Cadex Mount the same size as the G24?

Answer: They are almost identical when held side-by-side. Overall height differences, weight, and width are negligible. The Cadex mount does have a bit more fore and aft adjustment which allows you to position your nods further from your face if desired. Vertical adjustments are nearly identical, and any differences are negligible.

4.) Where are the Cadex Mounts from?

Cadex Mounts are a Canadian product imported into the United States.

5.) Are these mounts ITAR controlled?

Answer: Once they land in our possession, they are. For that reason, you will fill out an ITAR form at checkout like all our other ITAR regulated goods. We can only ship to the lower 48 states.
