40° to 50° doesn't sound like a big jump. ⁠

Visually though, it is a HUGE improvement and allows for more peripheral viewing. ⁠

When using in a PVS-14 setting, it allows that single tube to be much more useful when navigating under a dual band system. Put 50° Boomslang Glass on a Bino (like the Vyper Binos) and you will see the improvement as well.⁠

The answer is no. In these thermal clips, we left the glass and thermal blankets in the ambient air to allow the temperature to become similar to the surrounding objects. ⁠
⁠
Not to mention the obvious fingers sticking out like a sore thumb (ha. get it?), the objects quickly warmed up on the thermal image due to the surrounding body heat. ⁠So no... glass and thermal do not work to hide heat signatures in nature.⁠
