1.) How does the Surefire X300V stack up against other light brands and models.
One thing to keep in mind: This white/IR light is a COMPROMISE of function. The luxury of having white AND IR usually comes at a cost of performance in one or both of those categories. We are happy to report back that, although it might not be the brightest or most potent white light, it still features amazing throw and a great beam pattern. This white light will surprise you in terms of throw and brightness. It holds its own against other white lights on the market, but others WILL outperform it in terms of lumens and candela. If you are searching for a dedicated high output white light, this won’t necessarily be it. If you desire IR and white light function, and want an IR illuminator that is even worth a darn, this light will check your boxes.
2.) Who should consider the X300V weapon light?
This light really shines for folks who are just getting into night vision and need an illumination source for running at night under nods. If having a laser/illuminator is out of the question, the X300V will get you shooting passively for a relatively low price, especially compared to dedicated laser aiming devices. In some states it is also illegal to hunt predators with “lasers”. Having a dedicated IR illuminator eliminates the laser from the question and keeps you on the right side of the law. Passive aiming is also very effective. This IR light is also potent enough for clip on units like the PVS30 or UNS SR.
3.) What is the battery life like on the 640V?
The X300V has an advertised 2.5 hour run time in white light and 16.75 hours in IR. We can attest: expect a full night of run time under nods. This is a great run time, especially considering the output in IR mode.
4.) What about a warranty?

5.) Are these stocked or drop shipped?
We stock what is shown on our site here in our warehouse. These are NOT drop shipped. We hold the inventory, we ship at time of order.
6.) Are Surefire lights still worth it in the world of other great companies?
We think so. Are they for everyone? Probably not. The surefire reputation of quality and performance should be noted. For many people, they buy a surefire for the durability and reliability. For others, it’s in the name. We run many different lighting solutions on our rifles. We are very happy with the X300V and its performance especially in IR mode. No sacrifices are made and this is a very well rounded light in all modes.
