If you know us, we always desire to get people kitted out with high quality night vision and thermal that will excel at night.⁠

One unit we have come to appreciate is the PG25. No, it is not a crazy exciting unit... but it does the job on a budget. We always recommend to set a goal and save for quality gear... BUT if thermal is your main focus and you want a night vision monocular to navigate with, this MAY be for you.⁠

The PG25 features a Gen 2+ tube with built in IR and a minimum of 1400 FOM, 22 SNR, and 64 lp/mm center resolution. So no... it will not outperform a PVS-14 with L3, Elbit, or Photonis tubes, but it will get you into night vision.⁠

For cheaper night vision we recommend the PG25 as it still features a Gen2+ tube and has an IR light built in. When it comes to thermal, the Sting IR384 is a great option for something budget that also is clear enough for spotting.⁠
